I am pleased to learn that Metropolitan University is going to hold its first Convocation soon. It is surely a long-dreamt moment for all the graduating students, their parents and guardians, faculty and the university authority. Let me extend my heartiest felicitations to all of them on this memorable occasion.

A university, be it private or public, is not just a certificate-awarding institution; it is rather a place where knowledge is continuously sought, re-searched, cultivated and disseminated. It should ideally be a seat of academic excellence and a nursing ground for values to be inculcated among the students.

On this occasion I recall with pleasure that I was a guest at a seminar in this university almost two years ago. The curiosity & enthusiasm I noticed in the campus then is now being rewarded by the recognition that students will get in the Convocation.

Congratulations to all. I wish the Convocation a great success.

It gives me immense pleasure to learn that Metropolitan University is going to hold its 1st Convocation. My warmest congratulations to all the graduating students of the university. I would also like to extend my felicitations to the parents, faculty members and the university authority for translating the dreams of the students into reality, a feat achieved by the combined efforts of all concerned.

I strongly believe, education cannot and should not aim at producing a selfish, educated, robotic population. Its aim should be a shape the students into ‘whole’ human being imbued with values, vision and patriotism, and equipped with knowledge and expertise which will serve both the individual and collective purpose of education. I am happy to know that Metropolitan University is exactly doing so mobilizing all their resources in the direction.
Wish the Convocation a great success.

Convocation is a landmark event for both the graduating students and the university. It gives me immense pleasure to see Metropolitan University organizing its 1st convocation on 22nd April 2010. I take this opportunity to extend heartiest congratulations to the graduates and postgraduates, their parents and guardians, fellow members of the Board of Governors, the faculty and the staff whose combined efforts have brought Metropolitan University to its present stage and made this signature convocation possible.

Metropolitan University was established with the mission of providing quality tertiary education to the students coming from middle and lower income strata of the society. It had the accompanying vision of creating a seat of academic excellence where students would be equipped not only with essential knowledge and expertise but also with deep love for their country, people and roots. We believe to have traversed a substantial distance in the right direction but we still have a long way to go to meet the ever-expanding horizon of excellence. We solicit cooperation of all.

Congratulations to the graduating students once again!

Long live Metropolitan University. May God bless us all.

It is a great pleasure and privilege for me to congratulate the graduates and postgraduates of different disciplines on the 1st Convocation of the university. I would also like to congratulate their parents and guardians, the Chairman and the members of the Governors, the faculty and the staff of the university who collectively contributed in the making of what Metropolitan University is today.

Established just in 2003, Metropolitan University cannot claim to have a distant ancestry but it can certainly claim to have started a tradition of its own with emphasis on learning and dissemination of knowledge through research. From the very beginning we have endeavoured not only to impart the necessary expertise and knowledge to our students but also to inculcate in them patriotism, respect for values and other qualities that might make them something more than wise human robots. If we look back at our arduous journey and the goals we have so far reached, we must admit that we have a long way to go in the direction of perfection. We pledge to continue it.

I wish the 1st Convocation a success.
