Umme Humayara Manni is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Metropolitan University. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Economics from Khulna University, Bangladesh in 2007, followed by a Master’s degree in Economics from the University Brunei Darussalam, Brunei in 2012. She recently graduated with a PhD in Planning and Development Economics from the Faculty of Business, Economics, and Accountancy at University Malaysia Sabah, Malaysia, in 2024. Her professional experience includes a tenure at the Department of Business and Finance at the International Graduate Studies College, Brunei, where she worked for one and a half years. Subsequently, she dedicated seven years to the Department of Business Administration at North East University Bangladesh, Bangladesh. She has published papers in reputable international journals including International Journal of Energy Sector Management, Journal of Energy and Development, Asia Pacific Journal of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Asian Research Policy and Malaysian Journal of Sustainable Environment. She primarily focuses her research on economic development, international trade, and resource economics.
