The students of 29th batch, Department of English, Metropolitan University, organized an event titled "An Autumn Evening" as their celebration of rag day on 27th November 2017. The event was divided into two segments, first segment was an inaugural session and second segment was cultural evening and gala dinner. "To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield." - with this principle they celebrated their first segment "an inaugural session? of the event in University Campus on Monday at 3:30 pm and celebrated their second segment "Cultural Evening and Gala Dinner" in a renowned restaurant of the city with a festive atmosphere. In the event of 29th batch, under the chairmanship of Head (Dept.of English) and assistant professor Anik Biswas the chief guest was Dean, school of Humanities and social sciences Professor Dr. Suresh Ranjan Basak. The whole event was hosted by the student Farhana Khanom Joly and Nurul Islam. First segment was started with national anthem and cake cutting. Then the students of 29th batch invited the Dean and Head to receive a crest as a thankful sign to the English Department of Metropolitan University. The also presented some reminiscence documentary of their 4 years of B.A. (Hon's) in English. Some students shared their memories and feelings about their 4 years long journey of B A (Hon's) in English. At the end by the speech of their honorable teachers they ended their first segment. The second segment was started at 6:30 pm on that day.it was full of entertainment. The students were performed single and group songs, poem recitation, dance, mimicry of the students, drama, ramp show etc. Some teachers also performed song and recite poem. After the cultural evening they ended their second segment with gala dinner and by the completion speech of the Head, Department of English Anik Biswas.
