Condolence over the death of Professor Khandker Mahmudur Rahman
With the deepest sorrow, Metropolitan University?announces?the loss of Professor Khandker Mahmudur Rahman, the former Treasurer and Registrar who had served the University for a long time.?The Chairman Board of Trustees Dr. Toufique Rahman Chowdhury and Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Dr. Md. Saleh Uddin have expressed grief for the loss. Professor Khandker Mahmudur Rahman was suffering from various age old complications for a long time. He was 83 when he breathed his last on 7th June 2021. He was survived by his wife, two daughters, numerous relatives and well wishers. Professor Khandker Mahmudur Rahman born in 1983 had a bright academic career. He graduated in Economics from Dhaka University in 1959 and completed his post-graduation the following year. He had also a Master's degree in Agricultural Economics from Michigan State University in the United States of America. From 1967 to 1995, he served as Assistant Secretary, Deputy Secretary and Joint Secretary to the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. Khandker Mahmudur Rahman has successfully served the University as Registrar and Treasurer from the year 2003 to 2019. The University expresses the deepest condolence over his death. Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Toufique Rahman Chowdhury says, "Khandker Mahmudur Rahman was a very talented, hardworking, honest and righteous person. In his career, he has left a bright mark of his knowledge, talent and skills. The death of such benevolent man is an irreparable loss for us."
