External Peer Review of the Department of English Metropolitan University was completed on 12^th?July 2018. External Peer Review is a programme of Bangladesh University Grant Commission under Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP). This external peer review was completed at the initiative of Metropolitan University Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Self-assessment Committee of the Department of English.

Three-day long Peer Review was conducted by quality assurance experts?Professor Ranjith Wijayawardana, Vice Chancellor of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, Professor Dr. M. Ahsanuzzaman,??Head of the Department of English, Khulna University, Dr. Quazi Mostain Billah (Subject Expert), Professor and Dean, School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Chittagong Independent University.

External Peer Review includes EPRT meeting with IQAC, Peer Review & Self-assessment Committee meeting, presentation of self-assessment report, meeting with the academics, meeting with the employers, meeting with the alumni, observation of the physical facilities of the University, meeting with Vice Chancellor, meeting with non-academic staff, class observation, exit meeting with academics and meeting with the Chairman, Board of Trustees.

At the end of the Peer Review, the expert team handed over the report to?Professor?Choudhury M. Mukammel Wahid, Additional Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell?(IQAC)?while?Head of the Self-assessment Committee and Dean of the School of Humanities & Social Sciences, Professor Dr. Suresh Ranjan Basak; member of the Self-Assessment Committee and Head of the Department of English Mr. Anik Biswas, and member of the Self-assessment Committee and Assistant Professor Sanjida Chowdhury were also present.
