A seminar was held on the September 27, 2014 at the University?s Prof. Habibur Rahman Library Hall.?This was the fourth consecutive monthly seminar arranged by English Department of the University. This time the presenter was Md. Tareq Ansaree, Lecturer of the concerned department. He has offered?his critical talk on Hasan Azizul Huq?s Agunpakhi under the title Agunpakhi: A Tale of War, Famine and?Partition through a strong Female Voice. In this talk he tried to explain his critical view on the socio-economic condition of the then Rarh region and how the second World War destructed the very fabric?of the then Indian society and how partition became inevitable uprooting millions of people from their?root overnight. The seminar was presided over by Prof. Dr. Suresh Ranjan Basak, Dean of the School of?Arts and Humanities. A large number of faculties along with a good of students attended the program.
