Genocide Day Observed and Independence Day Celebrated at Metropolitan University


Metropolitan University observed Genocide Day (March 25) and celebrated the Great Independence and National Day (March 26) through separate events.

On the occasion of Genocide Day, a discussion session was held at the university’s Professor M. Habibur Rahman Library Hall.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, a discussion session was also organized at the university to commemorate the Great Independence and National Day.

The discussion session began with the recitation from the Holy Quran, performed by the university’s librarian, Mashruf Ahmed Chowdhury. Following that, the national anthem was presented by Sumona Aziz, the university’s Deputy Controller of Examinations.

The discussion session was chaired by Dr. M. Z. Ashraful, Head of the Department of Law and Justice.

The speakers at the event included Professor Dr. Suresh Ranjan Basak, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University; Professor Dr. Nazrul Haque Chowdhury, Dean of the School of Science and Technology; Professor Dr. Mohammad Jamal Uddin, Dean of the School of Business and Economics; Professor Sheikh Ashraful Rahman, Dean of the School of Law; Professor Chowdhury M. Mukammel Wahid, Director of the IQAC; Professor Dr. Toufayel Ahmed, Head of the Department of Business Administration; and Ms. Sanjida Chowdhury, Head of the Department of English.

In the separate events for the two days, deans, heads of departments, faculty members, officials, staff, and students from various departments of the university were present.
