Two students from the Department of Law and Justice at Metropolitan University, Srabanti Paul Shaili (LLB 44th Batch) and Sarwar Miah (LLB 44th Batch), recently participated in the 22nd Human Rights Summer School Workshop organized by Empowerment Through Law of the Common People (ELCOP).
The workshop was overseen by Professor Dr. Mizanur Rahman, the former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission and a former Professor, Department of Law, Dhaka University. This event brought together 42 law students from 17 universities in both Bangladesh and abroad, providing them with valuable insights into human rights issues.
Throughout the workshop, sessions were conducted by experienced Professors and Representatives from various countries, including Bangladesh, the United Nations, India, Iran, and Nepal, ensuring a comprehensive and diverse learning experience.
The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of Chief Justice of Bangladesh, Obaidul Hasan, while the closing ceremony featured Attorney General of India, R. Venkataramani, as the chief guest. This event served as a significant platform for these aspiring legal minds to enhance their knowledge and understanding of human rights issues
