Metropolitan University, Sylhet observed International Mother Language Day and Martyrs' Day 2022. Metropolitan University authority placed wreaths at Central Martyrs' Monument in the morning to pay tributes to those who made supreme sacrifices on in 1952 to establish the state language. Later on, A discussion meeting was held on the significance of the day at Professor M Habibur Rahman Library Hall. The Chairman Board of Trustees Dr. Toufique Rahman Chowdhury; Vice Chairman Mr. Tanwir Mo Rahman Chowdhury; Vice-Chancellor Professor Md. Saleh Uddin PhD and The Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University Shiba Prasad Sen joined the discussion meeting virtually. The Discussion meeting was presided over by?the Dean of the School of Business & Economics and Convenor of International Mother Language Day and Martyrs? Day Observance Committee, Professor Dr. Taher Billal Khalifa. The Dean of the School of Science & Technology, Professor Dr. Md. Nazrul Haque Chowdhury;? Advisor (Student Welfare) Professor Choudhury M. Mukammel Wahid; Mr. Anik Biswas, Head of the Dept. of? English and Dr. Mohammad Jamal Uddin, Head of the Dept. of Economics also spoke on the occasion. Deputy Registrar, Mr. Mihir Kanti Choudhury anchored the discussion meeting. Besides, Associate Professor, Dr. Rama Islam, Head of the Dept. of Business Administration, Mr. Masud Rana, Deputy Director (Public Relation) Ms. Sumana Aziz and Deputy Registrar Lukman Ahmed Chowdhury also attended the programme.
