Metropolitan University observed Martyred Intellectuals Day with great honor and dignity on 14^th December 2018. On the occasion a discussion meeting was held in the University. Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Shiba Prasad Sen presided over the meeting. To mark the day a one-minute silence was held paying sincere tribute to the martyrs before starting the programme. Professor Shiba Prasad Sen says, ?On December 14, 1971, two days just before the country achieved victory in the Liberation War, the Pakistan Army with the help of local collaborators killed a number of prominent intellectuals to cripple the newly emerging nation. This is a very pathetic day for us.? Teachers, students and the officials of the University also attended the programme.
