Metropolitan University Celebrates Victory Day 2024 with Enthusiasm and Honor


Metropolitan University, Sylhet, commemorated the glorious Victory Day 2024 on Monday, December 16, with a series of dignified and joyful events that reflected patriotism and respect for the nation's history.


The day began with a solemn tribute to the valiant freedom fighters as a delegation led by Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Suresh Ranjan Basak and Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Taher Billal Khalifa laid wreaths at the Central Shaheed Minar in Chowhatta, Sylhet city.


Later in the morning, at 11:30 am, the university organized a vibrant cultural program in the Professor M. Habibur Rahman Library Hall. Teachers, students, officers, and staff participated enthusiastically in performances that included poetry recitations, songs, dances, and instrumental music. The program, skillfully conducted by University Registrar Tarek Islam, captivated the audience and added to the celebratory atmosphere.


Vice-Chancellor and Convener of the Great Victory Day Celebration Committee 2024, Professor Dr. Suresh Ranjan Basak, and Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Taher Billal Khalifa graced the occasion with their presence. They were joined by the Controller of Examinations, deans of various faculties, department heads, teachers, officers, staff, and students, making the celebration a truly inclusive and memorable event.


Victory Day 2024 at Metropolitan University was a heartfelt tribute to the nation's freedom fighters and an inspiring display of unity and cultural heritage.
