Metropolitan University Commemorates Great Victory Day with Reflective Discussions and Cultural Celebrations

In commemoration event organized by Metropolitan University on the occasion of the Great Victory Day, distinguished figures gathered to reflect on historical significance and ongoing challenges.


Metropolitan University marked the Great Victory Day with a thought-provoking discussion meeting graced by the presence of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Jahirul Hoque. Reflecting on the nation's independence, Professor Dr. Mohammad Jahirul Hoque emphasized its unparalleled significance in global history, citing the remarkable victory against Pakistani invading forces as a testament to unity and resilience.


Under the leadership of Bangabandhu, people from all walks of life joined forces, transcending barriers of caste, religion, and profession, culminating in the birth of Bangladesh .Professor Dr. Mohammad Jahirul Hoque stressed that while current economic challenges resonate globally, continuous development with the spirit of victory is pivotal, especially in navigating the landscape of the fourth industrial revolution.


The meeting, chaired by Prof. Dr. Suresh Ranjan Basak, witnessed active participation from various faculties and speakers, shedding light on historical struggles and the path to victory. Profound discussions delved into the nation's past, the distortions in its history post-liberation, and the ongoing quest to reinforce foundational values for a promising future.

Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Jahirul Hoque led a ceremonial hoisting of the national flag alongside Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Suresh Ranjan Basak, symbolizing unity and respect for the nation's heritage. Tributes were paid to the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, as students, faculty, and various organizations laid wreaths in honor.


The event concluded with the campus adorned in lights, symbolizing the spirit of celebration and unity on this momentous day of remembrance and reflection.
