Academic activities of Metropolitan University will be started on 23rd October 2021 with the commencement of Supplementary Examination of Summer term, 2021. The Mid-term exams and the classes following Mid-term will on 6th November, 2021 in compliance with the rules of health and hygiene. The decision to start academic activities in the premises was taken at the 36th meeting of the Academic Council and the 26th meeting of the Syndicate on 9th October, 2021. The meetings of Academic Council and Syndicate were presided over by the Vice-Chancellor of the University Professor Dr. Md Saleh Uddin PhD. The meetings approved of the decisions of the last 25th Syndicate and 35th Academic Council meetings, arrival of students in the University, teachers? study leave and the approval of the list of undergraduate and postgraduate students receiving degrees from different departments. Besides, Mr. Mominur Rashid Amin, Syndicate member nominated by the Ministry of Education, and Rector (Secretary of the BCS Administration Academy was congratulated on his promotion to the post of Secretary. The Syndicate also thanked him for his initiative of easing vaccination for the students of the University. It was decided in the meeting that everyone either receiving or providing service in the University must follow all the health and hygiene rules including wearing masks in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Government and University Grants Commission. The Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Toufique Rahman Chowdhury, Vice-Chairman Mr. Tanwir MO Rahman Chowdhury, Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Shiba Prasad Sen, Treasurer Professor Dr. Suresh Ranjan Basak, Deans of the Schools and Heads of the departments, Controller of Exams, librarian and Registrar of the University also attended the meetings.
