"Pahela Baishakh" in Metropolitan University

Metropolitan University celebrated the first day of the Bengali calendar, ?Pahela Baishakh? the most charming public festival of Bengali life and culture.

For the first time, Metropolitan University celebrated Pahela Baishakh in the permanent campus at Bateshwar. The campus was artistically decorated to celebrate the day.

On the occasion of ?Pahela Baishakh?, the organizing committee had been very busy for the last few days in rehearsals, decorations and some other relevant activities to make the day entertaining to the visitors. Various cultural programmes including concert, stand-up comedy, drama, dance etc. were held with the participation of teachers and students. There were various stalls in the Baishakhi Fair. Besides, there were some sporting events organised by MU Sports Club. Marble racing, cock fighting, snake play etc. were some of the major attractions. All the programmes were supervised by the Organising Committee and several Sub-Committees.

The Acting Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Shiba Prasad Sen, Registrar, Deans, Heads, teachers, officers and employees, and students enjoyed this magnificent programme.
