Prof. Md. Saleh Uddin PhD Joins as Vice-Chancellor of Metropolitan University
Prof. Md. Saleh Uddin PhD joined as Vice-Chancellor of Metropolitan University on 15 January 2014. In his first office day he graced with his presence a meeting with all the teachers and officers of the university. The Ex Vice-chancellor Professor Emeritus Md. Abdul Aziz presided over the meeting. Dr. Uddin hopes to be assisted by all to run the university properly. It is to be noted that according to the Private University Law 2010, Section 31 (1), Honorable President and Chancellor of the Universities appointed Dr. Md Saleh Uddin as vice-chancellor of Metropolitan University for four years. Prof. Md. Saleh Uddin PhD was born on 30 June, 1952 in a noble Muslim family of Moshajan, Habiganj. He completed his Honours in Economics in 1974 and Master degree in 1975 from Chittagong University. Later on he achieved a Master degree in Economics from Thamasat University, Thailand in the year of 1980. In the year of 1989 he obtained his PhD in the same subject from the University of Malaya, Malayasia. He has been involved in teaching since 1976 by joining the Department of Economics of Chittagong University. He also taught in East West University and United International University in Dhaka. Along with his long 30 years teaching experience, he has a good number of research papers and publications. He worked as vice-chancellor at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet for two terms. At last, in the duration from 26th February 2009 to 25th February 2013, he was the vice-chancellor of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology.
