Professor Dr. Mohammad Jahirul Hoque joined Metropolitan University as Vice Chancellor on Thursday, the 1st December 2022. On arrival at the campus, he was received by the Chairman Board of Trustees Dr. Toufique Rahman Chowdhury, ?Vice Chairman Mr. Tanwir M.O. Rahman Chowdhury, Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Shiba Prasad Sen, Treasurer Professor Dr. Suresh Ranjan Basak, Registrar Mr. Tarek Islam and other teachers and officials.

Professor Hoque paid tributes to the portrait of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Thereafter, an introductory session was held in the conference room. Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Vice Chairman, BoT Member Mr. Muhitul Bari Rahman, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Treasurer, Deans of Schools, Heads of Departments, Student Welfare Adviser, Controller of Examinations, Director and Additional Directors of IQAC, librarian, Registrar and other officials were present on the occasion. Everyone congratulated the new Vice Chancellor and assured him of all kinds of cooperation.

Professor Dr. Mohammad Jahirul Hoque thanked everyone for the compliments and sought cooperation for the smooth functioning of the University to attain new heights and standards. It should be mentioned that Professor Hoque was appointed Vice Chancellor of Metropolitan University by the Honourable President of the People?s Republic of Bangladesh and Chancellor of the University for a term of four years from the date of his joining in an order passed on 16 November 2022
