A scholarship is announced in Metropolitan University by the noble initiative of the Treasurer of the University Professor Khandker Mahmudur Rahman on 9^th?May 2019. This scholarship will be given in every term to seven meritorious students of the University.

In the first phase of the Scholarship, the cheques were handed over to 7 meritorious students of Business Administration and Economics Department on that day.

The award giving ceremony was presided over by the Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Shiba Prasad Sen while the Chairman Board of Trustees Dr. Toufique Rahman Chowdhury was present as the chief guest.

However, the Treasurer,?Professor Khandker Mahmudur Rahman could not attend the ceremony?owing to his physical illness. He said,??This scholarship is not a donation. It is a recognition of their merit. The meritorious students of all departments will be brought under this scholarship from the next term. The number of awardees will be increased too.?

The Deans of all schools, Heads of the departments, Additional Director of IQAC, Registrar of the University were also present in the ceremony.
