According to the ordinance of the University Grants Commission and the Ministry of Education, Metropolitan University arranged a seminar against terrorism on Saturday 3rd September, 2016 at 11am in Prof. M. Habibur Rahman Library Hall. The seminar is held under the chairmanship of Professor Shiba Prasad Sen, the Honourable Pro Vice Chancellor of Metropolitan University. Prof. Shiba Prasad Sen says in his speech ?It is not just the responsibility of the administration to restrain terrorism. Since terrorism is a social disease, we all have to fight against this terrible disease. Bangladesh is a country of peace and harmony. Our nationalism is consolidated.? Among the guests Professor Emeritus M Abdul Aziz, Member of Board of Trustees Muhithul Bari Rahman, General Secretary of Sylhet District Bar Association Advocate Shah Ashraful Islam Ashraf, Chief of Sylhet Bureau (Independent Television) Md. Al Azad, Commander of Freedom Fighters during Liberation war Subrata Chakraborty Jewel and President of Sylhet Online Press Club Md. Muhit Chowdhury delivered their valued speech. Students along with their guardian, teachers and the officials of the University attended the seminar.
