Students from the 34^th?and the 37^th?batches of Department of English performed two scenes from two plays of William Shakespeare on 28^th?March 2019 in the Professor M. Habibur Rahman Library Hall. The plays that have been staged are?A Midsummer Night?s Dream?and?The Merchant of Venice. The show was supervised and directed by Masum Khan, Associate Professor and Sanjida Chowdhury, Assistant Professor of the Department. Dean of the School of Humanities & Social Sciences, Professor Suresh Ranjan Basak PhD presided over the programme while the Vice Chancellor of Shahjalal University of Science & Technology Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed was the Chief Guest.?Veteran Freedom Fighter and Drama Personality, Mr. Nizam Uddin Laskar; Chairman Board of Trustees, Dr. Toufique Rahman Chowdhury; Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Shiba Prasad Sen also attended the programme as special guests. The Head of the Department of English, Assistant Professor Mr. Anik Biswas delivered the welcome speech at the beginning of the programme.
