Metropolitan University is going to be the host of Sylhet Debate Federation (SDF). Regarding this issue an important meeting is held on Friday, 12 September 2014 at Prof. Habibur Rahman Library Hall with the Member & Co-convener of 17 renowned educational institute of Sylhet Division. Senior Lecturer from the Dept. of Law & Justice of Metropolitan University Mr. Gazi Saiful Hasan was present along with the following students Mahmudul Hasan Tarek (Dept. of English), Iqbal Hossen (Dept. of English), Farhan Sadik (Dept. Law & Justice) and Atik Rahman (Dept. of Business Administration). Besides, debaters Shibbir Ahmed, Shahriar Ahmed, Bidhan Biswas and Ishtiaq Ahmed Munshi from Shahjalal University of Science & Technology attend the meeting. In the Programme Manifesto and Constitution of SDF is presented to the members. Some of the constitution was emended and at the end, all the members agreed and express willingness to be the part of SDF. It is decided in the meeting that ?Debaters will be produced from SDF as well it will organize debate competition but none can participate in any competition from SDF?s banner?. Members & Co-conveners from Shahjalal University of Science & Technology, M.A.G Osmani Medical College, Sylhet Women?s Medical College, Ragib Rabeya Medical College, Madan Mohon College, MC College, Leading University, North East University, Sylhet International University, Sunamganj Govt. College, Brindaban Govt. College (Habiganj) and Sylhet Women?s College was present in the meeting.
