The meetings of the Academic Council and the Syndicate were held on Thursday, 26th April 2018 in the Conference Room of the University. The meeting was presided over by the Vice Chancellor in Charge of the University, Professor Shiba Prasad Sen.

In the beginning of both the meetings, obituary references were tabled at the untimely death of Mrs Selina Ahmed Anu, wife of the Member of the Syndicate, Mr Chowdhury Mufad Ahmed and Mrs. Suparna Basak, wife of Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Professor Dr. Suresh Ranjan Basak. The members expressed tributes to the departed souls and conveyed consolation to the members of the bereaved families.

Besides, member of the Syndicate?Professor Dr. Syed Manzoorul Islam was congratulated on??being awarded with?Ekushey Padak in 2018.

The meeting endorsed the Minutes of the previous meeting as well as some vital decisions were taken regarding the recruitment of new teachers and staff, promotion and study leave of teachers, results of the students who completed degrees in the preceding term, extension of the registration period for students, approval of examination committees, introduction of the departments of Physics, Mathematics and Bangla, and the construction of the second building in the permanent campus of the University.

Professor Dr. Syed Manzoorul Islam, Engineer Mohammed Monsuruzzaman, Professor Mohammed Jahirul Islam, Professor Emeritus Md. Abdul Aziz,?Barrister Md. Arash Ali, Deans of Schools, Heads of Departments, Controller of Examinations and Registrar were present.
