Nation celebrates 45th Independence Day today with a fresh vow to uphold the spirit of the liberation war. Metropolitan University also celebrates the glorious day with profound dignity and honour. At the very early hour of the day students, teachers, office executives placed wreath at central monument in presence of the honourable Vice-Chancellor of University Prof. Md. Saleh Uddin. Later on, a seminar is held at Prof. M. Habibur Rahman Library Hall discussing Independence Day. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Md. Saleh Uddin, Professor Emeritus M. Abul Aziz, Pro-VC Prof. Shiba Prashad Sen, Prof. Suresh Ranjan Basak and many other faculty members attend the seminar. Besides, Observing Independence Day some other programmes also held in campus such as adding word/sentence on google translator to enrich Bangla language in internet, in evening University Band Flames performed a stage show at central monument. Every year Metropolitan University observes this National Day with due respect.
