Victory Day 2019 Observed

Metropolitan University observed Victory Day 2019 with great honour and dignity. A fascinating victory day procession was taken out from the University campus in the morning and floral tributes were paid at the Kendriya Shahid Minar as part of the observance of the day.

Later on, a discussion meeting was held. Presided over by Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Shiba Prasad Sen, Dean of the School of Science & Technology Professor Dr. Md. Nazrul Haque Chowdhury was the keynote speaker. The Treasurer and?Dean of the School of Humanities & Social Sciences Professor Dr. Suresh Ranjan Basak, Controller of Examination Professor Nandlal Sharma, and Dean of the School of Business and Economics, and Convener of the Victory Day Celebration Committee, Professor Dr. Md. Taher Billal Khalifa also spoke on the discussion.

The discussants said,??Victory Day is our incomparable achievement. Other countries have their Independence Day, National Day but there is no Victory Day. We have achieved Victory Day, sacrificing our lives. We jumped into the liberation war at the call of Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to throw away slavery. We were almost unarmed against the well-equipped army. But we had endless courage, and we were also united. As a result, we defeated the Pakistani Army.?

The speakers added that Bangladesh is now moving forward. Pakistan's Prime Minister, Imran Khan has also been forced to say that Bangladesh is now ahead of Pakistan. Our achievements are vast, outstanding.

Teachers, students and officials of the University attended the discussion meeting.
