On the occasion of International Women's Day 2022, three-day long programme held in the Metropolitan University organised by the ?Sexual Harassment Prevention Committee. The event included seminars, video and poster exhibitions etc.
The event started on Tuesday, 6th March 2022. Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Shiba Prasad Sen delivered the inaugural speech at the seminar held at Professor M. Habibur Rahman Library Hall. Professor Shiba Prasad Sen said, "Women need to build themselves up in a way so that they can handle any situation".
Dean of the School of Science and Technology and?Registrar, Professor Dr. Nazrul Haque Chowdhury; Dean of the School of Business and Economics, Professor Dr. Taher Billal Khalifa also spoke on the occasion.
Mr. Gazi Saiful Hasan, Head of the Dept. of Law and Justice, presented the keynote paper after the seminar entitled "Female Students' Perceptions on Cyber Bullying at Metropolitan University". Ms. Rina Paul, Lecturer of the Dept. of Software Engineering also presented an article entitled "Women Empowerment in Bangladesh: Facts and Analysis."??Dr. Mohammad Jamal Uddin, Head of the Dept. of Economics?also spoke on the occasion, analysing both the presented articles.
The seminar was presided over by Dr. Rama Islam, Associate Professor Dept. of English and Convener of the Sexual Harassment Prevention Committee. During her speech, Dr. Islam emphasized on creating a women-friendly environment everywhere for the betterment and development of the nation.
The programme was supervised by Ms. Snigdha Das, Assistant Professor of the Dept. of English and Ms. Mitu Akther, Senior Lecturer of the Dept. of Law and Justice.
Meanwhile, a three-day long video and poster exhibition was also held. University students have created posters and videos under the supervision of the Sexual Harassment Prevention Committee
