Research Workshop on ?R Statistics? was held in Metropolitan University organised by the Department of Economics on 6th July 2023. Dr. Munshi Naser Ibne Afzal, Associate, Department of Economics, Shahjalal University of Science & Technology attended the workshop as the resource person. The Session was followed by the Certificate awarding ceremony which was presided over by the Head of the Department of Economics, Professor Dr. Mohammad Jamal Uddin. Honorable Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Dr. Mohammad Jahirul Hoque attended the event as the Chief Guest. During his speech, Professor Dr. Mohammad Jahirul Hoque said, ?Future challenges must be faced by ample research and knowledge. Universities should focus on problem-solving based education rather than certificate-based education. The technologies of artificial intelligence and machine learning have to be used to face the challenges of the future and solve the complex problems of the world.? Mr. Amzad Hossain and Ms. Nourush Jahan, Lecturers of the Department of Economics also spoke on the occasion. The programme was anchored by Mr. Md. Ashiqur Rahman, Lecturer of the Department of Economics.
