World Hepatitis Testing Week was observed at Metropolitan University in a very vibrant yet modest manner, with the wholehearted support of the Bangladesh Liver Foundation, the university’s Medical Unit, and the Metropolitan University Rover Scout Group.
A seminar titled “Hepatitis Testing and Awareness” was organized as part of the event, where the keynote speaker was Professor Dr. Mohammad Ali, the pioneer of liver transplantation in Bangladesh and the founder of the National Liver Foundation.
The event was graced by the honorable Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Trustees of Metropolitan University, Dr. Toufique Rahman Chowdhury, and Tanwir M.O. Rahman Chowdhury, the respected Chairman of the Board of Trustees. Also present were the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Treasurer, Deans of various faculties, Heads of Departments, Proctor, Student Welfare Advisor, Controller of Examinations, Finance Director, esteemed faculty members, administrative staff, members of the Rover Scouts, members of the Kidney Foundation, journalists from various print and electronic media, and our beloved students.
All attendees were offered free Hepatitis B and C virus tests.
