Biography

Ahmed Afif Rafsan joined the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) of Metropolitan University in February 2024. He passed his SSC and HSC from Scholarshome, Sylhet, in 2016 and 2018, respectively. He obtained his B.Sc. degree from Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) in November 2023.

In January 2024, Ahmed was appointed as a part-time Research Assistant on the project "Novel Design and Performance Analysis of Photonic Crystal Fiber Sensors for Medical and Chemical Applications" under the research grant of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST). His research interests encompass Photonic Crystal Fiber, Communication, and Biosensors. At present, he is working on a polished SPR-based PCF sensor with an ultra-wide refractive index and high amplitude sensitivity, as well as on a PCF sensor with multiple Analyte detection capabilities with low confinement loss. 

He is proficient in various design and simulation software, including COMSOL Multiphysics, Cadence-Virtuoso, Pspice, Quartus, Simulink, and Proteus. In addition to his academic involvement, he was also a member of the AUST Innovation and Design Club and the AUST Research and Publication Club.

Research Activities

Status: Preparing the manuscript for submission.


2. A PCF sensor with three Analyte detection capabilities with low confinement loss.
Status: In Progress.
