Metropolitan University celebrated the first day of the Bengali calendar 1426, 'Pahela Baishakh' the most charming public festival of Bengali life and culture on Sunday 14th?April 2018.
The permanent campus of Metropolitan University was artistically decorated to celebrate the day. Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Shiba Prasad Sen inaugurated the programme of the day.
On the occasion of ?Pahela Baishakh?, the organizing committee had been very busy for the last few days in rehearsals, decorations and some other relevant activities to make the day entertaining to the visitors.
Various cultural programmes including concert, stand-up comedy, drama, dance etc. were held with the participation of teachers and students. There were various stalls in the Baishakhi Fair. Besides, Monkey dance, doll dance, bioscope, cock fighting, snake play etc. were some of the major attractions.
The Chairman Board of Trustees Dr. Toufique Rahman Chowdhury, Deans of all schools, heads of all departments,?teachers, officers and employees, and students enjoyed this magnificent programme.
All the programmes were supervised by the Head of the Dept. of EEE and President of Cultural Club, Miah Md. Asaduzzaman.
