Welcome to the Department of Data Science at Metropolitan University.

It is a great pleasure to introduce you to one of the newest and most promising departments of our university. The Department of Data Science is the first B.Sc. (Honours) in Data Science program in the Sylhet division, established to meet the growing national and global demand for skilled data professionals.

We aim to build a centre of excellence where students receive high-quality, outcome-based education aligned with global standards. The curriculum has been carefully designed with input from industry experts, alumni, and academic professionals to ensure that our graduates develop strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills required in today’s data-driven world.

Qualified faculty members, modern computer labs, advanced software tools, and a student-friendly academic environment support the department. We focus on hands-on learning, real-world projects, research activities, and ethical data practices to prepare students for careers in IT, business, finance, healthcare, research, and many other sectors where data plays a key role.
