Bangladesh Olympiad in Informatics (BdOI) is an annual programming competition for university students. It is organized in line with the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI). The divisional selection of the International competition was held in Metropolitan University on 1st January 2022. The University has been serving as the Sylhet Divisional Venue of Bangladesh Informatics Olympiad since 2006. Teachers from the department of Computer Science & Engineering and members of CSE Society supervised the entire selection process for the Olympiad. The names of selected participants will be announced centrally later and they will participate in the Olympiad to be held at the national level. Finally they will have the opportunity to participate at the international level. Professor Choudhury M. Mukammel Wahid, and Assistant Professor & Head, Dept. of CSE Md. Mahfujul Hasan were present in the programme. The first IOI was held in Bulgaria in 1989. It was proposed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)
