The sixth Gold Award Ceremony under The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award was held in Dhaka on Monday, the 10th December 2018.
This year, the Gold Award went to 9 students of Metropolitan University, Sylhet. Besides, a Certificate of Recognition was handed over to the University, which was received by Mr. Nawshad Ahmed Chowdhury, Senior Lecturer of the Department of EEE leading the University team of students.
The ceremony was hosted by Her Excellency Alison Blake, CMG the British High Commissioner to Bangladesh at Her Excellency?s own residence. On behalf of the High Commissioner, the Deputy High Commissioner His Excellency Kanbar Hossein Bor presided over the ceremony and handed over the certificates. He congratulated the awardees and noted that the best institutions took part. The ceremony was lively with the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The DEA Foundation Bangladesh, Mr. Sayeeful Islam along with honorable members of the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee of The DEA Foundation Bangladesh and other distinguished guests.
This year Gold Award went to 232 students who successfully accomplished all the required activities of Gold Standard.??The nine awardees of Metropolitan University are Sanjan Ahmed Sohan, Faija Jannat Jamali, Md. Shihab Uddin, Md. Abdus Salam, Nishat Tabassum, Shakil Hasan, Lukman Ahmed, Muminul Hoque Fahim, and Md. Iqbal Hussain.
