'Grand Story Slam', the storytelling competition was held on 30th November 2019 at the University Campus. The Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Professor Dr. Suresh Ranjan Basak was present in the competition as chief guest. Besides, the Head of the Department of English Assistant Professor Mr. Anik Biswas and all the faculty members of the department were present. Assistant Professor Snigdha Das, Assistant Professor Sanjida Chowdhury, Senior Lecturer Adiba Zaman and Senior Lecturer Tasnuva Tabassum were the judges in the competition. Dr. Suresh Ranjan Basak said this type of competition helps to develop the creativity of the students. He urged all to work together to ensure the continuity of this kind of competition in the future. He also thanked the organizers for arranging this creative event. Humayera Kabir (35th Batch), Fariha Mahjaben (35th) and Dewan Akib Chowdhury (37th Batch) stood first, second and third respectively. A prize giving ceremony was held at the end of the competition. Rezwana Jahan and Nusrat, the students of the department anchored the programme.
