Leadership Development Forum (LDF) arranged an inter-department debate competition. The inaugural program was held last 19th March at Habibur Rahman Library Hall in Metropolitan University. The chief guest was honourable Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Saleh Uddin. ? The development of education can ensure the rapid development of economy? was the inaugural debate topic. Synthiya haque Oishi, Md. Shariful Alom and Ruma Sinha (group leader) from CSE department led their department as a group in favour of this topic and Taslima Jannat Limu? (group leader), Susmita Roy and Mithun Das from EEE department were anti party of this inaugural topic. Exam controller Prof. Nandalal Sharma was the president of this inaugural debate competition. The honourable justices were Tareq Islam (executive), Prof. Masud Rana (Business Administration) and Lecturer Sher-E Alom (Law and Justic ). The winner was Department of EEE who was against of this topic and the group leader Taslima Jannat Limu was elected the best speaker in this inaugural debate competition. The final episode of this debate competition was held on 10th April. Honourable chief guest Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Saleh Uddin said ?debate competition is too much important to produce skilled leader. There is no age, no limit in the way of acquiring knowledge.? He also said that ? if anyone wants to be the best speaker he/she must be keen interested to know something new and he/she have to give up his/ her shame. Debate competition takes an important role to spread knowledge and create an ideal society.? He thanked all the members of LDF and promised that in future he will create an opportunity for training and nourishing all the debaters that they can be the best debaters. Honourable president of this final episode thanked the winners and? advised all the participants to enrich themselves far better than this present. He highlighted the importance of debate in practical life by indicating some ways such- as a senior executive in private and public organization, business institute, international institute and multinational company. He said that ?only a debater can be suitable for those professions?. The final episode was conducted by Senior Lecturer Gazi Saiful Hasan, (Department of Law and Justice) and welcome speech was given by Secretary of LDF and Senior Lecturer of English Department Zoynul Islam. In the presidency of Prof. Nandalal Sharma, Prof. Masud Rana (Business Administration) prof. Md. Jamal Uddin (Business Administration) and Lecturer Sher-E Alom (Law and Justic ) were the justice of the final episode of debate competition. The student of LLB Raziya Sultana Chowdhury and the student of BBA Farhana Islam co-operated them. The excited final competition between Department of EEE and English, English Department became champion. The winners of this champion team were Md. Iqbal Hossen, Sumaiya Hasib and Mahmudul Hasan Tareq (group leader). Sumaiya Hasib was elected the best speaker in the final episode. The members of runner up team were Taslima Jannat Limu? (group leader), Susmita Roy and Mithun Das. Champion and runner up crests were given by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Saleh Uddin. Professor Dr. Suresh Ranjan Basak ; Dean, School of Humanities and Social Sciences , Professor Dr. Taher Billal ?Khalifa; Dean, Business Administration, Dean in charge of Science and Technology Professor Chowdhury Mohammad Mukammal Wahid, Registrar? Professor Khandaker Mahmudur Rahman, Rama Islam, Shekh Ashrafur Rahman and Miah Md. Asaduzzaman whom are Head in charge of Department of English, Law and Justice and EEE, Deputy Registrar Lukman Ahmad Chowdhury (Public Add) and all teachers and students were present in this prize giving ceremony.
