Metropolitan University observed Martyred Intellectuals Day with great honor and dignity on 14^th?December 2019.?The tribute was paid by the University in the morning at the Martyred Intellectual Memorial. The Pro Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Shiba Prasad Sen was present there along with the Treasurer and Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences Professor Dr. Suresh Ranjan Basak, Dean of the School of Science & Technology Professor Dr. Nazrul Haque Chowdhury, Dean of the School of Law Professor Dr. M. Rabiul Hossain and Controller of Exam Professor Nandlal Sharma. Professor Shiba Prasad Sen says, ?On December 14, 1971, two days just before the country achieved victory in the Liberation War, the Pakistan Army with the help of local collaborators killed a number of prominent intellectuals to cripple the newly emerging nation. This is a very pathetic day for us.? Teachers, students and the officials of the University also attended the programme.
