Metropolitan University National Model United Nations 2025

Metropolitan University proudly hosted the most awaited Metropolitan University National Model United Nations (MUNMUN) 2025 from January 23 to 25. This year’s conference, under the theme “A Greener Tomorrow: Balancing Economic Growth with Environmental Care,” attracted over 200 diplomatic representatives from across the country, marking a significant milestone in fostering global awareness on critical issues.

The conference featured seven innovative committees: the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), International Media (IP), International Court of Justice (ICJ), United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN), and the Special Bangla Committee (SCRAP), each focusing on key international concerns. These dynamic discussions provided a platform for future leaders to engage in meaningful dialogues on climate change, human rights, economic challenges, and global security.

Chayon Das, the Secretary General of the event, emphasized the importance of sustainable growth, stating, "This conference aims to create future leaders who understand the delicate balance between economic development and environmental protection. It is our collective responsibility to ensure a greener tomorrow."

The leadership team, including Orkatul Jannat Orpa (Deputy Secretary General) and Mehnaz Rahman Faiza (Director General), ensured the smooth running of the conference, guiding the committees and delegates through thought-provoking debates and policy-making simulations.

One of the standout features of MUNMUN 2025 was the collaboration with Ekattorer Kotha and Metropolitan University’s Print Media Partner, which ensured that the discussions reached a wider audience, reflecting the university’s commitment to educating and inspiring the next generation of global leaders.

The event not only provided valuable insights into pressing global issues but also helped participants hone their diplomatic, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, laying the groundwork for meaningful future contributions to the global community.

As the conference concluded, participants left with a renewed sense of purpose, ready to tackle the challenges that lie ahead in creating a more sustainable and equitable world.
