Lecturer of the Department of Computer Science & Technology, Rahatara Ferdousi won the competition titled ?Innovator against Gender Based Violence? organised by United Nations Women (UN Women Empowerment Organisation), Canada High Commission and Light Castle Partner. She participated in this Contest arranged at the Lakeshore Hotel in Gulshan, Dhaka. The idea she presented in the Contest was called 'BIR'. She was awarded a $5,000 prize from the organisers. The representative of the UN Women Bangladesh Chapter, senior officials of the organising committee were the judges in the contest. Meanwhile, The Chairman Board of Trustees Metropolitan University Dr. Toufique Rahman Chowdhury and the Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Saleh Uddin congratulated Rahatara Ferdousi for being the winner in this contest.
