Metropolitan University has passed two decades of success. The 20^th?anniversary of the university was celebrated on Wednesday, 3^rd?May 2023. To facilitate higher education in Sylhet, Metropolitan University was established by Dr. Toufique Rahman Chowdhury. Metropolitan University officially started its journey on May 3, 2003 with the approval of the Ministry of Education. By the deliberate and well-planned leadership of the Chairman Board of Trustees Dr. Toufique Rahman Chowdhury and Vice Chairman Board of Trustees Mr. Tanwir M.O. Rahman Chowdhury, the University is moving forward and gaining reputation nationwide. The University is proving quality education to the student in a large campus with all the modern facilities, rich library, and advance lab facilities. Currently, young scholar Professor Dr. Mohammad Jahirul Hoque is skillfully performing the role of the Vice Chancellor of the University. Metropolitan University currently has seven departments under four schools. Three convocations of the university have already been held. Graduates of this university are working in world famous companies including Google, Amazon, Agoda etc. On the occasion of the anniversary, the Chairman, Vice Chairman and the Vice Chancellor of the University congratulated everyone and gave separate messages. They extended warm greetings to teachers, students, alumni, parents, officials, employees, and well-wishers of the University.
